General Information
Corporate Structure
Granite Bay Montessori is a non-profit corporation which operates under an established set of by-laws. School Administration is assisted by a Parent Action Committee (PAC). An agenda is distributed in advance of each meeting and minutes are available following each meeting. All parents and staff are invited to attend meetings and are invited and encouraged to participate on a Committee as their time and talents allow.
Parent Participation
The successful operation of our school relies heavily upon the volunteer efforts of parents, whether by driving on special outings, helping teachers make materials, teaching a special subject, pitching in on fund—raising events, or lending a hand with maintenance and repair jobs that pop up around the school. Volunteers are always appreciated.
Each classroom relies on parent volunteers to help with coordinating parent participation in the classroom and assisting in the many special activities which occur during the school year.
Parent Support and Learning Opportunities
Parent meetings will be held in conjunction with our quarterly PAC Meetings and will include the opportunity to discuss child development and Montessori principles, and to get to know the staff and each other better. We encourage parents to attend and to give us suggestions on topics and formats.
School Closures
You will be provided with a school calendar that conforms with few exceptions to that of the Eureka School District.
